I genuinely think that we could not have asked for a better ending to the session than the one we had today- with the long elusive victory with sent the entire team into heaven. ya, so we did not win some gold with honors for syf or national champs, but i really think all of us are champions.
ppl in arts cca always say how happy and proud they are at achieving gold with honors for SYF, or succeeding in this and that compettion. and that they had to work real hard for 4 months, 5 months to get there. and as always, they get their praises from the school. not that they din deserve it. OK....
but look. i really cannot understand why ppl keep saying there's no pride playing for soccer. we started this journey as 25 individuals, almost strangers to many, but ended as ONE team. a journey which started in august last yr. for arts performance grp, they go out there for 15 mins and strut their stuff, things they have practiced for months. routine. and when they win the school is all GOOGOO over them. soccer, every week we go under the sun, 2 battles every week. and so a gold with honors, ppl say those ppl have pia-ed alot, overcome a lot of failures. look at soccer. EVERY SINGLE BALL IS A BATTLE, A CHALLENGE TO GET THERE B4 UR OPPONENT. even when u are down to ur last ounce of energy. and therein lies the beauty of soccer.
i'm not taking away anything from performances grps and their achievements, but really, it's time the school shown some appreciation for a cca like soccer.
