i've always said that workin was for the money so that i have extra cash to spend on myself. but after workin thru this holidays, i've learnt so much more than jus the cash. the AH MAs all workin their ass off late into the night like till one plus, doing larborous stuff like carry stacks and stacks of bowls even when their backs are already slouching due to old age, and young bastards (waiters) jus dumpin their stuff at the AH MAs stations waiting for the AH MAs to clear their trays for them while they drink orange juice? woah, new heroes of our generation.
anyway i was thinking, i'm starting to grow more and more distant from my name, DARYL. before i was puttiing on my name tag for work yesterday, than i saw these 5 letters D-A-R-Y-L. It felt so weird sayin it out, i mean ppl have been calling me Jijo for far to long so much so that Daryl sounds foreign to me. u noe sometimes u are able to match names to faces, like when u say the person's name is tom, dick or harry, u can feel that they actually go together. then i look at myself at the mirror and say "Daryl". the person lookin back dun look like a Daryl.
and that jus goes to say that our name dun really make our identity. like there is a soul, a being inside all this physical shell, your name, your looks, and your long hair. inside all that, there is a being, that makes up who u are, that someone that everyone recognises and not the Name DARYL that ppl remember.
